Operator Panel

The Operator Panel page provides a graphical view of the state and activity of your UCx server, with the capability to act as an operator console.
To access the page:

  1. Open the UCx Web-based Configuration Utility
  2. From the PBX tab, select Operator Panel

The graphical panel is broken into sections:

  • Extensions
  • DAHDI Trunks
  • SIP/IAX Trunks
  • Areas
  • Conferences
  • Parking Lots
  • Queues.

UCx State and Activity

You can see at a glance:

  • Which devices are registered - registered devices have orange background
  • Which devices are not registered - unregistered devices have a yellow background

  • Which extensions are busy, ringing, or available
    • Available
    • Busy
    • Ringing
  • Who is talking and to whom and the call duration
  • Message waiting indicators and message counts  (hover your mouse over the message icon to see the message count)
  • Conference status
  • Queue status (number of calls waiting)
  • Parked calls

Operator Console

You can perform the following actions via drag & drop:

  • Originate calls
  • Disconnect calls

To originate a call from one extension to another extension, click and drag the phone icon  from the first extension over to the phone icon of the second extension.

To disconnect a call, double click on the handset icon .

The Operator Panel is a CPU intensive feature, hence it is highly recommended that you do not have multiple users using the Operator Panel at the same time, especially on systems with a high call volume.

Extension Filter

The Extension Filter capability is available for software releases 4.5 and up.

You can limit the number of extensions displayed on the Operator Panel by clicking the Extension Filter link.

Enter the list of extensions to be displayed in the Extension Filter box.
The box can be expanded by clicking and dragging on the bottom right corner.
Use space or comma to separate extensions in the list. Use "-" for a range. Multiple lines are allowed.

The Extension Limit sets the maximum number of extensions to be displayed. The supported values are between 0 and 9999.
Use 0 to disable the limit.

Note, there is a known performance issue when displaying more than 50 extensions at a time.
