SIP Trunk Configuration (verified SIP providers)

The following list of SIP providers were tested and verified with the UCX system.

Before manually creating a SIP trunk configuration for your trunk, we strongly recommend checking if your SIP trunk provider is already included in the list of known providers on the IP Trunk Assistant page, which offers simplified trunk configuration. At this time, the following SIP trunk providers are included in the list:

  • Allstream
  • Bell Canada
  • Broadvox
  • DIDlogic
  • E-MetroTel (CA POP)
  • E-MetroTel (US POP)
  • Flowroute
  • iNet Communications
  • IXICA
  • Rogers
  • SIP Affinity
  • Sipgate
  • SIPmly
  • Skype
  • SoTel
  • UCX
  • VoIP.ms
  • VoiceMeUp
Note that even though these SIP providers were tested and verified for SIP interoperability, carrier implementations can change over time. Using E-MetroTel SIP trunks via either the Canadian or US POP locations can greatly simplify support as E-MetroTel is responsible for both sides of the SIP signaling / message flow.

You can also use the IP Trunk Assistant page for simplified management of trunks from other providers (not included in the list) by using the "Custom" type for the Trunk Provider field.

E-MetroTel requires that the SIP ALG be disabled on the network that routes UCX voice (SIP) traffic. Most commercial routers have SIP ALG enabled by default. Please check the manufacturer's handbook for your device on how to disable SIP ALG. (See Unexpected call failures and registration problems for details.)
