Mediatrix 4102s FXS gateway
Overview
This page describes the steps neccessary to get a Meditrix 4102S 2-Port FXS Gateway working with the UCx Product Line.
Requirements
- Operational UCx Server
- Two extensions on the UCx server programmed as SIP devices
- Mediatrix 4102S FXS Gateway
- Power Cube for 4102S
- Power Cable
- Network Cable
- Analog Telephone
- Ethernet Network with DHCP Server
Hardware Installation
- Plug one end of the Network Cable into the WAN Port on the back of the 4102S device,
- Connect the other end of the network cable to your network.
- Plug the Analog Telephone into the RJ-11 Port 1 on the back of the 4102S device.
- Connect the Power cube to the 4102S device.
- Plug the power cord into an AC wall outlet and allow the system to power up.
Determine the IP Address of the 4102S device.
- Pick up the handset of the Analog Telephone and dial *#*0.
- The 4102S will speak the IP address to you through the handset.
Provision the Mediatrix 4102S.
- Open a Web Browser window and connect to the IP address of the 4102S device.

Login to the device using the default username of public. There is no password for this account (default).

Navigate to the SIP tab and select the Servers page.

Modify the Registrar Host, Proxy Host and Messaging Host fields to reflect the IP address of your UCx server and press the Submit button.

Press the Services Table link, highlighted in the color BLUE at the top of the page to take you to the Services page.

Scroll to the bottom of the Service Table page and press the Restart required Services button and wait for the page to refresh.

Navigate to the SIP - Authentication page.

Select the Edit button on the first line.

Make the following changes to this entry:
- Set Apply To field to Endpoint
- Select the correct Endpoint
- Leave the Gateway field blank
- Set Validate Realm to Disable
- Leave Realm blank
- Set Username to be the extension of the SIP port that you are registering.
- Set the Password to be the same as the secret field in the extension settings of the SIP port on the UCx server.

Press either the Submit or Submit & Refresh Registration button.

Navigate to the SIP - Registrations page.

In the Endpoints Registration Box:

If all goes well you should see the Status of the configured endpoint set to Registered.
