Introduction

The Infinity 5046 expansion module for Xstim phones has a 800 x 480 color graphic LCD screen.​ The module expands the functional capability of your VoIP phone to a whole new level. The module supports 20 programmable keys on a single page that work as BLF, Speed dial, call park, pick up, and numerous other UCx features.

Note: Second page is not supported at this time.

The 5046 expansion module is compatible ONLY with the Infinity 5010 and it can support up to 5 expansion modules.

Installation

Install and configure the main 5010 phone and have it working first before connecting the 5046 expansion module.

The Infinity 5046 expansion module must be connected to an Infinity phone's PC port and cannot be connected directly to the network.
The Infinity 5010 phone can support up to 5 Infinity 5046 expansion modules.

STEP ONE: Connect expansion module to Infinity 5010 phone

Use the connecting plate and 4 screws to connect the module to the phone.

STEP THREE: Connect to Power

Method One - Using Power cable

Only up to one expansion module can be powered using the power cable.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If using 5030 (EHS30) adapter for wireless headset, then this method cannot be used. The extension port is needed for the 5030 adapter. Use the second method (Power Adapter) to power the 5046 expansion module.

Method Two - Using Power Adapter

Wait for the expansion module to complete its bootup before proceeding to STEP FOUR.

STEP FOUR: Connect to Network

Connect one end of the ethernet cable to the PC port on the Infinity phone and the other end of the ethernet cable to the Uplink Port of the expansion module.
To share the network connection, you can connect a PC to the Downlink Port of the expansion module.

STEP FIVE: Configure PC Port

From a browser, login to the web interface of the Infinity 5010 phone the expansion module is attached to.
Perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Network - PC Port page.
  2. Change the PC Port setting to Connect to Expansion Module
  3. Click the SaveSet button
  4. The phone will reboot for the changes to take effect.
  5. After the 5010 phone has successfully completed its bootup, wait two minutes for the 5010 phone to communicate with the connected expansion module(s). If the expansion module needs to update its firmware, the process can take up to 10 minutes to complete. DO NOT UNPLUG any cables nor power cycle any of the devices during this time.
  6. From the web interface, navigate to the Home page and check the expansion module(s) are listed.

UCX Configuration

Line Keys

Keys on the expansion module are configured the same way as keys on the main phone.

  1. Login to the UCx Web-based Configuration Utility.
  2. Navigate to PBX - PBX Configuration - Extensions (Nortel) page.
  3. Select the desired Nortel extension from the list of extensions located on the top right corner.
  4. Under Module Type, select 5046 Expansion Module followed by the Number of Modules.
  5. Under Programmable Keys section, configure the desired keys.
  6. Press the Submit Changes button.
  7. Press the Apply Config bar at the top.
