Deploying the UCX server in a VMware Environment

Pre-Requisites

  • VMware ESX 5 environment or higher (we do not support the VMplayer)
  • VMware Web Client Server installed and operational (vcsa)
  • E-MetroTel OVF template files (provided by E-MetroTel)

Procedure

Step 1

Login to the VMware vSphere web Client.

Step 2

Right mouse click on the vSphere object where the UCX Virtual Server will be deployed and select Deploy OVF Template.

Step 3

On this screen select the location of the OVF template.

Step 4

This screen provides details of the OVF template.

Step 5

Select the folder where the UCX Virtual Server is to be deployed.

Step 6

Select the Host to be used for this deployment.

Step 7

This page is where you choose the vmWare datastore to be used for this deployment.

Step 8

Now you must choose the vmWare Network Interface to be used for this deployment.

Step 9

This last screen allows you to review your delpoyment and make any changes before you press Finish.

Step 10

You can monitor the deployment of the OVF template in the Recent Tasks window of the vSphere Web Client.

Step 11

When the deployment of the UCX Virtual Server is complete you can use it as deployed (approximately equivalent to a UCX-20) or you can adjust several settings to allow for more concurrent calls, voice storage or devices.
