There are two types of call pickup: Directed Call Pickup and Group Call Pickup

  • Directed Call Pickup allows you to pick up a call at a specific extension.
  • Group Call Pickup allows you to pick up a call that belongs to a group.

Directed Call Pickup

Phone Type Steps Notes
All phones  1. Dial ** followed by the EXTENSION number that is ringing.  
Nortel phones with Feature key 1. Press the Feature key followed by the feature code 76.
2. Enter the EXTENSION number that is ringing followed by the # sign or the Enter softkey.		  

Group Call Pickup

Call group and Pickup group(s) are configured by the system administrator on a per extension basis.

The Pickup Group defines which Call Groups the extension can answer. If the defined Pickup Group number for an extension matches the Call Group number of a ringing extension, that extension can use the Group Pickup feature to answer the call.

2. Call ringing at another extension in your pickup group is picked up.		  
Nortel phones with Feature key 1. Press the Feature key followed by the feature code 75.
2. Call ringing at another extension in your pickup group is picked up.
